Help us build critical pathways for Australia’s biodiversity conservation and protection of Country

Conservation Futures is dedicated to building,

trialing and implementing an Integrated Knowledge System that will bring together the widest array of available and new datasets to inform decisions on land and water use and investment in natural resources and climate-ready futures across Australia.

Our goal is to help guide the transition from declining health of Country and environmental values in Australia, to thriving, resilient landscapes that protect our nature and support prosperity in regional communities.

We have extensive partnerships and relationships in place to ensure significant opportunities to scale up, test, and implement our approach, but additional investment is needed. We invite you to join our prestigious network to help realise the potential of this ambitious project and secure its long-term goal of improving environmental decision-making in Australia.

We are seeking co-investment to enable us to:

Deliver

a full national Integrated Knowledge System to provide open access to integrated data to support decision-making, land use planning, investment and natural capital accounting.

Ensure

the system is available in perpetuity and has the scalability and processing capacity for complex decision-making, including climate-adapted, strategic national prioritisation, and multi-purpose, cross-sector, place-based planning.

Work

with more place-based partners, groups and communities across Australia to share knowledge, provide access to the Integrated Knowledge system to inform how they can realise their visions, plans and priorities, provide planning support where needed, and adapt and extend our system’s capabilities to meet a wider range of needs.

Provide

a pathway for First Nations communities to integrate their data for their own decision-making and to inform wider planning processes, with complete culturally-appropriate legal and technical systems to protect Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property and other sensitive data.

Deliver

a national project identifying strategic priorities for carbon store protections and investments to maximise benefits for communities, business, biodiversity and ecosystem resilience into the future, including in the face of climate change.
